Good food great staff recommend it to anybody
Very friendly service, but the chicken was cold and VERY dried out.
These "brownies" as they call them were sensational, most places in Denver call them burnt ends, whatever you call them, there is a reason this place has so many awards on the wall!
Good for a quick lunch
Pretty good but not great.
Always tasty! Friendly staff! We love Big D's 😎
Big D's is my go-to place for a delicious, satisfying breakfast. Their lunches are great, too, but I can't stress enough how pleased I am with the fantastic breakfast offerings available every day. Enormous pancakes, fabulous biscuits, and all of your morning favorites expertly prepared. You should definitely try the breakfast bowl: eggs, cheese, sausage or bacon, biscuit, and grits or gravy served mixed together in a bowl. It will change your life, guaranteed. Then you can come back later for a terrific BBQ lunch.
What a nice little hole in the wall BBQ place! We were a little nervous when we saw it was connected to a gas station but we were blown away by the food. The Ribs in particular are phenomenal, and definitely taste smoked to the bone! Fun atmosphere as well.
Great pancake and eggs as goo as Mom’s
Terrible! Friendly people but the pork is dry. If you eat there pay extra for sauces to make the barbecue taste good. We've been everywhere for barbeque and I will never return here. Bad meat.
Brownie sandwich. Try it, you'll understand.
Great service, good was average. From NC so the BBQ was OK. Ribs were great, wings as well. Sides were generic.
Lunch time and no ribs and that is what your business is known for, not go
I don’t guess they have biscuits that have a top?? There’s usually two parts. A top and a bottom. Now I could understand if they were swamped you’d get the regular ole poor service but two people were in the place. Guess I’ll just fold it over 🤷🏻♂️ Improvements needed are a door chime so you don’t stand there or have to be seen or ignored. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU LEAVE AND DRIVE ALL THE WAY HOME TO EAT IT.
Incredible BBQ! Everything I've had here is amazing. Portions are very generous and the sides really bring the meal home. Make sure to try the pork "Brownie", so tasteful you don't need any sauce.
Downtown Dawsonville Location:The food was good. My Fried Green Beans were a very small portion compared to the orders I’ve got in the past. No plastic silverware or napkins.l with our to-go order. We paid for extra sauce, didn’t get that. Did not get toast with our plates. Staff is very unfriendly. Check your to-go orders.
I’ve been here many many times and have never been failed. First and most important the food is so dang good it makes my mouth water thinkin about it. I get a variety of things but mostly it’s the pulled pork sandwich with fried okra and baked beans, with a sweet tea of course. The sweet cole slaw and collard greens are great sides too. Breakfast rocks too! I love The Deluxe which is 2 eggs any way(over easy for me), a Huge pancake, and I get grits and bacon(other choices are hash browns or sausage. Everyone working there have always been friendly and helpful. It’s a small place with a great atmosphere. If you can’t see it it’s next to BP gas at Hwy 53/GA 400! Enjoy!
Cashier was very impatient, Floors were sticky, no forks were available so I had to eat hash browns with my hands, when you order chicken tenders you only get two. Portion sizes were awful and the restaurant was dirty.
Fantastic ribs and pulled pork. The pork tips (brownies) are a must.
Food is decent but it is consistently slow food delivery.
Pulled pork sandwich was served Luke warm with cold spots, also they were out of buns so served on toast, out of cole slaw and out of collard greens.
I was on a road trip. pit stopped here. Turned out to be amazing. Old man runs a good joint ! keep it up
The food is always awesome when they have it. The only reason for 3 out of 5 was the lack of service. I recommend some basic customer service training, and you will get 5 stars every time.
Great service,Some good menu items to choose overall a good place to eat at.
Wasn't keen on the dry rub and under cooked cooked ribs . They were tough and dey. Green beans were like canned and no flavor. Baked beans were.delicious and brunswick stew was great.
Nothing special but not bad, little pricey. This location is not as good as the other Dawsonville location.
Good BBQ, always stop by when I go to AMP for a track event, they have pork 1000 ways!
Hit or miss, today was a miss. Clay's rib sandwich had a little bit of dry and crunchy meat on it. It cost to much not to be satisfied after eating there. Fyi...I do know the difference between smoke and overcooked.
Food is great and pretty good customer service. Only weird thing is they charge you $0.25 for a small cup of ice water. I charge for ice water when I spent 30 bucks on food? Ordered one pancake for my daughter and it was bigger than any pancake I have ever seen. Three of my kids shared it. It was really good.
Loved it tasted so good very nice people and service was good
Stopped by earlier today, brisket wasn't fresh, seemed cooked days before and reheated, rubbery and didn't naturally fall apart as it should.Server taking the order wasn't polite and couldn't even be bothered to say hello or other any words. Was trying to support a local business but seemed like we were imposing on them for being there.
Giving a one star because that’s the only way I can write a review. This is by far the worst BBQ that has ever went across my lips! They charge for a 1/4 of a small container of sauce. No okra, but not made aware until after I ordered and was waiting on my food. The beans tasted like burnt finger nail polish remover. The only thing worth eating was the Mac n cheese and the hush puppies. Oh and my 8yr old said the mini moon pie that they didn’t make was good! Don’t waste your time or money on such trash!
Love the elderly lady in downtown dawsonville. Very personable and a great place to be a real person.
Great food and great service!! I highly recommend the “brownie” plate which is their take on burnt ends. Corn nuggets were a great appetizer and the sweet tea was amazing!
Quite dissappointing, actually. I paid over $13 for a pork bbq plate , so I expected something nice. There was a adequate portion for lunch, bit the pork was cold The menu said that it came with bread......it did not. The french fries were ho . The pork and beans have a weird flavor I hope that they're ok. Sadly, Big D's, I'm not i.pressed.
Had a jumbo pork sandwich, I can't eat bead and I still got full. It was really good and the bathroom is very clean with pictures from Life magazine , many famous. I'll be back.
I ordered a plain biscuit, an egg biscuit, and a small coffee. The biscuits were good, especially with some barbecue sauce on them from their nice selection of sauces on the table. There was very little coffee left, so I had to wait on a new batch to brew. I think it is the Gevalia brand, as I have seen that label there before, though I did not see it this time. The coffee was a little bitter to me, though others might like that flavor. I drank only a little bit and tossed the rest. The customer service was good. The prices are OK. Sorry, I cannot help you with an evaluation of their barbecue because I don't eat BBQ.
I enjoy eating at Big D's. The Staff are friendly, and go the extra mile to ensure your experience is great. I have a service dog that is always with me, and the staff are so accommodating and make me feel comfortable every time I come in.Every time I eat here, everything is good. You might have a little bit of a wait because they cook to order. I eat here pretty regular, 4 or 5 times a month. Breakfast is good, lunch is good, and dinner is good. No matter what you order, it comes to you fresh and hot.
good BBQ but, did not taste better than other BBQ spots I've been to.
Pretty good bbq. I would eat there again.
They misplaced our order so we waited an additional 30 min. But after they realized they quickly made it better....food was delicious and staff were friendly!!
First time here: the customer service was not great, the girl at the counter seemed irritated and impatient. Customers there were rude, obnoxious and even walking around barefoot. The sanitation was awful. The floors were so sticky my shoes were sticking to the ground, tables weren't wiped down and the island were you can get your drinks was extremely wet, some dirt on it and items weren't stocked. The food....not the best. I will say the hush puppies were the best I ever had, but that's it. I highly recommend Big Guns BBQ in Talking Rock, they are much cleaner, more pleasant and that was the best BBQ around we have ever had. I do not recommend this place. I wouldn't doubt the health department will be called soon on them for how unclean it was.
They were able to accommodate our huge last minute order!
Well I just come from there and I have the best barbecue sandwich I've had in a long time!
Tried this place cause of the fairly good reviews and it’s close to our new home, near downtown Dawsonville. First time it was the worst barbecue I’ve ever had. Second time, the worst hamburger. Both times food was overcooked and dry. People are nice but that’s not what you go for. I don’t care to waste any further time on this place.
Food was great service was great
Great BBQ. Headed up to this area with a friend and he took us here and it was so good. Great food at a decent price. Has the good ice (those who know know) and great sweet tea. Overall, even though I live nearly an hour a way, I'm tempted to say itd be worth the drive just to eat here. Its just good BBQ and it's in a great area so there is plenty to do around there such as the Edge of the World trail and hit the river up for a swim or just wonder around the classic southern small town.
I had the BBQ brisket sandwich which came with two hush puppies. Hush puppies were crunchy and tasty. The sliced brisket was thickly sliced, three strips on a hamburger bun. The brisket was moist and had good flavor and very tender. I tried two of the sauces, South Carolina mustard based and a Memphis sweet and hot. I cut the sandwich in half and considered both to be equal in flavor. Not much heat out of the sweet & hot. That's a good thing. The two ladies working were very nice. Service was quick. Ambiance was nice . enough seating for about 25 people. A wide menu as well, including breakfast. No Nachos though..I would go back next time I am in the area and ready to eat.
Really good food and nice people. The pancakes are huge!
I can't say enough about the food it really is delicious! The beans... the Potato salad is yummy. The bbq is spot on!
